Roadway Improvements to Begin

Work Completed Last Week, June 20th to June 24th
·         Continued with concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron replacements that were damaged during construction or in poor condition.
·         Made repair to water main connection near north end of project site due to unforeseen circumstance.
·         Adjust manholes within curb & gutter to final grade to allow for new concrete curb & gutter to be installed.

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, June 27th to July 1st
·         Complete concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron replacements that were damaged during construction or in poor condition.
·         Remove existing pavement in preparation for new asphalt pavement
·         Perform repairs to existing materials to provide suitable material under pavement as needed
·         Grade existing materials in preparation for new asphalt pavement
·         Install first layer of asphalt pavement

The contractor was unable to complete the concrete replacements as anticipated last week. The contractor is planning to complete the remaining the concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron replacements early next week. If the concrete curb & gutter or sidewalk in front of your driveway or concrete driveway apron is being replaced, access to your driveway will be restricted for 4-5 days. Residents affected by driveway restrictions will be notified prior to removing, framing, and pouring the driveway to give you ample time to remove any vehicles from your driveway or garage.

The project is moving into a new phase next week, roadway rehabilitation. The contractor will remove the existing pavement, perform needed repairs, and grade the existing materials as needed in preparation for the new asphalt pavement. If all goes as planned, the first layer of asphalt pavement will be installed next week, prior to the July 4th Holiday.

The installation of the first layer of asphalt pavement is a major project milestone. Once this layer of pavement is installed, the amount of dust is greatly reduced and a smooth driving surface will be provided.

Following the paving of the first layer of asphalt pavement, the contractor will begin landscape restorations, final testing and inspection of the underground utilities, adjusting manholes, and other miscellaneous tasks prior to installing the final asphalt surface layer.

Thank you again for all your patience and understanding have you have been dealing with the dust and uneven roadway for the past few months. If all goes as planned, the first layer of asphalt pavement will be installed prior to the weekend and provide relief for both of these inconveniences.

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, June 20th to June 24th
·         Complete concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron replacements that were damaged during construction or in poor condition.

The contractor will continue, and is hoping to complete, the concrete curb & gutter, sidewalk, and driveway apron replacements.

Depending on work progress, the contractor is hoping to begin landscape restoration by grading those areas disturbed during construction, installing and grading topsoil, and sod installation.

The contractor is scheduled to begin the roadway improvements the week of July 27th, with hopes of having the first layer of asphalt pavement installed prior to the July 4th weekend.

Thank you for all your patience and understanding over the past few weeks as the contractor performed the water service replacements and final connections between the existing water main and the newly installed water main. We understand the significant inconvenience that was experienced while the water was turned off, thanks again.

·         Depending on work progress, connections between existing water main and newly installed water main at Imperial Lane and north end of project.

Water service replacements will continue this week along Executive Lane and Executive Circle Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 1-2 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

Once the water service replacements are completed, the contractor will begin making connections between the existing water main and the newly installed water main. In order for these connections to be made, the water main will need to be shut down causing a disruption to your water service. The Village Water Department will provide notice the day prior to the scheduled shut-down to all affected residents. Please be on the look-out for these notifications.

The contractor is also beginning to perform concrete curb & gutter and driveway replacements following the water service replacement. If the concrete curb & gutter in front of your driveway or concrete driveway is being replaced, access to your driveway will be restricted for 4-5 days. Water Service Replacement to Begin This Week

Work Completed Last Week, May 30th to June 3rd
·         Continued performing the required testing prior to placing the newly installed water main into service and water service replacements
·         Grind-in-place of the remainder of the existing pavement along the project limits

Work Anticipated to be completed Next week, June 6th to June 10th
·         Receive required approvals prior to placing water main into service
·         Begin water service replacements along the project site

Water service replacements will begin this week along the project site. Water services will be replaced from the new water main to the existing valve and box located in front of each home. During the water service replacement, water to individual homes will be shut-off for approximately 1-2 hours while the transition from the old service to the new service is made. The contractor will notify each resident individually regarding the approximate time and day of the water shut-off prior to turning off the water.

It was determined the best option was to grind the remainder of the existing roadway in-place prior to starting the water service replacements. During water service replacement, the contractor will be excavating across the entire width of the roadway. This will make travelling along Executive Lane increasingly more difficult throughout the coming weeks. You may be asked to take an alternative route depending on the location the contractor is working.  Should a cul-de-sac area need to be closed to facilitate construction, residents within those areas will be given prior notice.

Thank you again for all your patience and understanding as the next phase of construction begins, water service replacement. It is anticipated it will take approximately 2 weeks to complete all the water service replacements.
